First Langton Jam

On the 4th March, Kent Jams held a short Jam at the Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys in Canterbury. This was the first event of what may be a regular jam to co-inside with the school’s Public Viewing of the Observatory which occurs once a month from September to March (when it’s dark enough in the evening to view stars with the telescopes). Dreamland Makers Fair

The Kent Jams team were at the Dreamland Makers Fair organized by Bits and Bytes over the weekend spreading the Raspberry Pi madness further into Kent. We were using the Raspberry Pi DOTs Boards, now on sale here The kids thoroughly enjoyed the activity with many kids and many parents asking where to buy the boards and the price of them. We had a couple of teachers interested in buying a class set to use within their schools. First Kent Jam

On the 30th January 2016 we held our first Kent Jam at the Gravesham Borough Council building. After a long and slow process of organising the event from before Christmas, the event went off without a major hitch. We had nearly all of the 50 tickets sold and a great turn out on the day. After long conversations with the Southend and Covent Garden Jam organisers we finally decided on a Minecraft, Sonic Pi and Astro Pi workshop.
